We are a non-profit, apolitical and inclusive organization, made up of people with diverse profiles and a humanitarian character.

 

2. Vision

To be a benchmark organization for the Hispanic and mainly Salvadoran community in the development of comprehensive community projects through social intervention.

 

3. Mision

We are an organization with the capacity to manage articulated cooperation programs and projects that contribute to the development and improvement of people's quality of life.

 

4. Values

  • Integrity

Being honest implies that each human being has the personal commitment to be honest, to do things correctly and carefully when no one is watching and even to seek the good of others at the expense of one's own.

  • Solidarity

It is a human value that consists of helping people selflessly, that is, without expecting anything in return and without any interest involved.

  • Inclusion

It is about ensuring that all individuals or social groups can have the same possibilities and opportunities to develop as individuals, regardless of their characteristics, skills, gender, creed, age, culture and special abilities.

  • Equity

It includes fair treatment of people, giving each person what belongs to them based on the recognition of their specific conditions and characteristics, therefore, it means justice, recognition of diversity and elimination of any discriminatory attitude or action.

  • Complementarity

It consists of having people with particular knowledge and skills to be able to achieve the organization's objectives in the different areas of work.

 

5. Principles

  • Shared values ​​and vision

The members of the organization are constituted under the same vision and shared values, respecting diversity and establishing a space for dialogue that promotes equal and inclusive participation of the members, managing the differences for the benefit of the community

  • Accountability

The relationships between members, cooperators, community and various actors must be based on accountability mechanisms that allow transparency and oversight of actions as a guarantee of trust, respect and harmony of the associates with their beneficiaries.

  • Defined roles and responsibilities

The defined establishment of responsibilities and roles constitutes the basis of solid understandings and agreements that allow the coordinated and efficient development of the association, and the monitoring of results for the benefit of the community.

6. Objectives

  • General Objective

Develop modalities, mechanisms and instruments of cooperation between the Association of United Salvadorans in Virginia and various official and civil society actors that enable and enhance the development of the quality of life of the Salvadoran community in the United States, and of the communities of origin in El Salvador.

  • Specific Objectives
  1. Recover, promote and develop the different cultural manifestations and processes that reaffirm the Salvadoran cultural identity and foster the sense of belonging under a framework of democratic, plural, inclusive, supportive and equitable values.
  2. Support and promote the development of educational processes through the management of various programs that allow and enhance the inclusion and educational equity of the Salvadoran community residing in the north of the State of Texas and in the communities of origin
  3. Promote and manage physical and mental health programs for the Salvadoran community residing in the north of the State of Texas and in the communities of origin, capable of providing preventive care, as well as at the different levels of medical care. .
  4. Promote the development of skills, abilities and skills in the Hispanic community through comprehensive programs that allow them to optimize their levels of human development
